Englisch: Coming to know the only true God

Tonight’s subject is “Coming to Know the Only True God.” This afternoon someone called, a gentleman, and my wife answered the phone, and he asked, “What is tonight’s subject?” So she asked me, “What is tonight’s subject?” So I told her the name of tonight’s subject. Then she came back and said, “I don’t think that he was at all impressed with that. He wanted something far more practical.” Well, may I tell you, you will never hear anything in this world more practical than you will hear tonight on many levels. We’ll take it from this level to another level and to other levels.

So here, the subject is “Coming to Know the Only True God”. It’s taken from the 17th chapter of the Book of John. But we will start on the 14th of John, “Let not your hearts be troubled”—it doesn’t matter what in this world appears to be real, it doesn’t really matter. “Let not your hearts be troubled”—no matter what opposes you, what rules you here, no matter what it is. Then he said, “Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; were it not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and I will take you unto myself, that where I am you may be also. Now, you know the way where I am going” (John 14:1-11). Thomas said to him, “We do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” He said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Then Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” He said, “I have been so long with you and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? Believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe for the sake of the works themselves.” Now, let us go back and show you how practical this thing is. I know from actual experience. I don’t care what the world appears to be…alright…let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. Here, this bold claim, Believe in me. So I’m telling you what I know from experience.

Now, he tells you concerning the way. The way to what?—to everything in this world, I don’t care what it is. The way to everything: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” but, specifically, to the Father. But before we come to that, to everything in this world, I don’t care what it is.

Now let me share with you what I know, that I am the way. I don’t say Neville is. Listen to me carefully, I don’t say Neville is the way, I said, “I am the way.” The year is 1946. There are no flights out of New York to Barbados, only boats, and it would take a week to get there. I learned that my sister’s son, her oldest son Billy, was riddled with cancer, age seventeen, and this was the end…alright, just the end. I wanted to show my sister that he doesn’t really die, that nothing dies, that I am all Imagination and I must be wherever I am in Imagination. And I can be so vividly real at that point in space, that I must be seen by those who are at that point in space. I had no way of communicating with her. There were no telephones between New York and Barbados in 1946. Today we have it, by Bell. No airplane service. And so, I went to my bedroom, and I got on my bed, and I simply assumed. No one told me a way, for any other way other than “I am the way” would be spurious. No other way, I am the way. Well, what is the way? I can’t get a plane, can’t get a boat. Well, I am the way. So I assumed I am in my family’s home, the home where we were all raised, that I am on a bed. It is the bed where my sister had her son, Billy, and I am so real in that bed she can’t see Billy, she can only see me. That would encourage her to believe in immortality. Everything is real in this world. If he must make his exit, alright, his exit, but I want her to know I am not the body, I am not this little garment. Let it die. I am immortal. I am only wearing a garment. And so here, I assume that I am on the bed. I assume that my sister came in and she saw me, and then she was startled. She came forward and she looked and she looked and she saw her brother, Neville. She knew that Neville was 2,000 miles away in New York City. I allowed her to see only me and she couldn’t see her son. I assumed I was right on his body. I took the place of Billy. I actually felt myself right into Billy, and showed her the immortal being that cannot die. That’s all that I did.

Then I came out and a lady, a very dear friend of ours, came for cocktails. It was about five New York time. When I came out, she said, “Why, Neville, you seem so heavy of Spirit. You usually are so gay, and now you seem…what’s wrong?” I said, “Not a thing is wrong.” I just told her what I had done, that I had just come from a very serious presentation of the immortal self that cannot die. I’ve just shown my sister that I cannot die, therefore Billy cannot die…nothing dies. And so, then we had cocktails. One week later, I received a letter from my sister. She went out and she wrote, she said, “Neville, I just went in”—and she gave the time and the hour, allowing the difference of one hour between New York and Barbados, she wrote it as of then. She said, “Neville, I don’t understand it, please explain it if you can. I was looking in on Billy all day, because he is going. I went into the room and I was startled. When I looked at the bed it wasn’t Billy, it was you. I saw only you. I went over to the bed and no matter how I looked, I closed my eyes, I opened my eyes, I closed my eyes, I opened my eyes, and I looked and it’s only you. I couldn’t see my son Billy, I only could see you. Will you please explain what this really means?” Billy was still alive in this world wearing this garment that was decaying and she hoped that it would mean, alright, his recovery or some peculiar thing. Here was but a presentation of the immortal being that cannot die. If she could only see…let the little garment go…he cannot die. Nothing dies. I am all Imagination and I must be wherever I am in Imagination. And if there is one sensitive enough to see me when I am there, then if I am there, then he should see me. And so, Daphne saw me.

So I tell you “I am the way.” I didn’t take a plane, I didn’t take a boat. If anyone had suggested that way, it would have been a false way. So I want to be successful in this world and someone tells me you must know the right people, join the right clubs, live in the right neighborhood…that’s all stupid. These are all false ways. Anyone who tells me to move from where I am across the tracks to the better side of the tracks, that I may simply appear to the eyes of Caesar a better person, a more important person, that’s all spurious. That is all false. There is no other way other than “I am the way.” But tell me is it true? “I am the truth.” Is it real? “I am the life.” So I move into a state and the state becomes real to another who is physically present at that moment, therefore, it is true at that moment. It is now not only true, but is it real or hallucination? “I am the life.” I can be real, for I am life. The whole thing becomes real and alive.

So I tell you, “In my Father’s house are many mansions; were it not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and I will receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also. Now you know the way where I am going.” I’m going where?—to everything in this world that you desire. Wherever you want to be, whatever you want to be, I will know, for I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life. I will lead you ultimately to the Father, for that is really what I’m talking about. I’ll lead you to the Father. That is really the way, but no one comes to the Father, but by me.

So, where will I go now? Let me show you another one. Here, I think it was ’52 or ’53 I was living in Beverly Hills on El Camino. It was a home that we rented, it was furnished, and we had a double bed. I’m on the right side of my body. It’s the wee hours of the morning. And suddenly, I am seeing what I should not see…I am seeing the interior of a very plush place. Consciousness follows vision and I walk into the place. I remembered where I was when it started, so I came back to the bed, on my right side. Again, I walked into the place and again I came back. I did it over and over and over, and then I decided to experiment…I thought I’d simply adventure. So, as consciousness now followed vision into this place, I stepped into it and it actually closed upon me as though you had closed the curtains, just as though these curtains were now suddenly drawn and I couldn’t see you. I’m completely shut out from the world that I still remember in Beverly Hills. I know where my body is, it’s on a bed, a double bed, my wife is in it, and here I am completely shut out from that world. For a moment it doesn’t disturb me, I’m going to experiment. Everything is real, just like this, as solid as this little lectern is now. I am to myself as solid as I am now. I walk through the door into a palatial suite of rooms. I examine all the things…it’s unoccupied but ready for occupancy, but not occupied. I come out into a hallway and I started walking this hallway. At the end, intersecting the hallway was another hallway that seemed a more public hallway. This one simply led those who occupied these suites into it and then into the main hallway.

When I got to the end, I noticed that the whole thing was luminous, brilliant, brilliant light. Two ladies were coming down the hallway and I said, “Ladies, this is a dream.” For I remembered the origin of it all: I was on my bed, on the right side of my body, and the whole thing started that way, so I said, “This is a dream.” They did exactly what any lady would do if a stranger met them in a hallway and announced “This whole thing is a dream.” They would think that one who made that announcement was insane. So they acted just as any lady would act and they got as far removed from me as they could against the wall, but they couldn’t go through it, and they walked as fast as they could in that manner, one behind the other. Then, as they got to the end, then they turned and made their exit.

I said to myself, “Now, Neville, you know that this whole thing began as it began, so now you want to wake up and get back.” Well, I closed my eyes and imagined I’m back. Opened my eyes, I’m still there. I closed my eyes again and I said “I’m back, this is a dream. Wake up!” I opened my eyes, I’m still standing there. I am completely shut out in an entirely different world and there is no way back. I couldn’t walk down the corridor and go ___(??). ___(??) provided what I should provide for her future. I must leave her independent of the blows of life. I have a daughter and she’s not been educated, she’s in high school, and she must have the best education that she is capable of taking. These are unfinished things in my world.

I said, “Come on, Neville, you’ve got to get back.” Then I remembered the way and feeling is the secret. Just as I felt myself on the bed in Barbados, I felt myself there. I once felt myself while in a dream and knew that if I could only feel, I would wake in the dream. Well, I did, I woke in the dream. Now, I must now feel. And so, I’m not going to walk down the corridor and try to get back, because that’s a different world. That world is as real as this world. Isolated…you can’t find it by going through any crack in this world. It’s simply that that night in question my eye opened and I saw it and walked into it. While lying on my bed I walked into it and the world is just as real as this. That’s the world…and there are worlds within worlds within worlds into which everyone goes. Nothing dies. And there are worlds that are, relative to this, nonexistent, judged by mortal minds.

And so, what I did was this. I simply imagined that my head was on a pillow and that I could feel it. I felt the pillow and as I felt it, suddenly, I felt myself in a horizontal state rather than vertical, and I knew I was on my bed. But I couldn’t move my body; my body was cataleptic, everything was dead. I am in my body, but it’s dead. After what seemed like an eternity, I could move the little finger and then move a little bit more, and then, finally, I could move the other and I stretched it out. I could feel the warmth of my wife. I felt her body and I knew I was back. But I’m still dead; the body is dead, all but this arm. I tried to open my eyes and I couldn’t. Then, afterwards—all this seemed a very, very long time—then the lids, I could pry them open and then I became aware of familiar objects in the room, the bureau, the things all around, and here I am back.

So I know “I am the way”; there is no other way. I didn’t walk down the corridor, I didn’t fly, I didn’t take any road that man would suggest, I simply assumed that I am where I want to be. Assuming that I am where I want to be, I was there. I know that I can assume that I am what I want to be, and I am there: I am wherever I am in Imagination. I can make there here and then now, fuse them together, and I am here. I am all Imagination and I must be wherever I am in Imagination. But always make there here and then now. So I am now the success I would like to be…and the world witnesses it. And this is the secret of “I am the way.”

“We do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Well, he’s really teaching them to go to the Father. And tonight, here we go into the profound aspect of this chapter. Don’t forget what I’ve told you, it’s the most practical thing that I could tell you. I know from experience, I am the way. I can be anything in this world by simply using my Imagination, for I am all Imagination. I am all Imagination and I must be wherever I am in Imagination. But now, I lead you to the Father: “No one comes unto the Father, but by me,” but no one. This is the most profound mystery in the world, but man can not quite grasp it. I hope tonight I can make it so clear that you can see him. It is my desire that you see him clearly tonight, this mystery of the Father. “No one has ever seen God; but the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known” (John1:18). Now, the word bosom simply means “within,” that’s all that it means. Look it up, in both Greek and Hebrew. Blake uses it “…ever expanding in the bosom of God, the human Imagination.” We speak of the one who was his favorite, the one he loved, who rested on his bosom. Hasn’t a thing to do with anything on the outside, it’s all within. No one has ever seen God; but the only begotten Son, who is within the Father, he has made him known.

Now, people say, “Well, don’t you believe in Jesus?” Certainly! I don’t believe in any thing more than I do in Jesus. Well then, you don’t believe that he was a man who was born miraculously 2,000 years ago, and this was it? And, of course, you don’t want to ruin their beliefs; you can’t, you mustn’t do it. You’ve got to be so tender in approaching anyone who has this fixed idea in this world. How are you going to approach it? You say, “But no one…do you believe that Jesus Christ is God the Father? He’s his Son. Everybody tells you he is God the Father.” And Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” He said, “I have been so long with you, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how then can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” (John14:8).

Did anyone ever see him? To see and to know are the same word in Hebrew, and in Greek, to see and to know. I’ve been so long with you and you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. Therefore, you have never known me. If you had ever known me, you would have known my Father also (John14:7). So, I can be with you and yet you never know me. If you knew me, you would know my Father also…for “I and my Father are one” (John10:30). No one has ever seen God. The only one in this world that could ever reveal God is his only begotten Son who is within him.

And that is so true. You walk the earth as a man, John Brown, with all the weaknesses, all the limitations of the flesh, and then suddenly an explosion takes place within you, a real explosion. And after the whole thing settles, here before you is that which was within you from the beginning of time. And “God has put eternity”—yes, the lad—“into the mind of man, yet so that man cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end,” only in the end (Ecc.3:11). After the explosion, he reveals you as God the Father. Until then you didn’t know the Father, you didn’t know God. You didn’t know who the Son really was, for you were taught by tradition that it was Jesus Christ. You were not taught that Jesus Christ is God the Father, who David in Spirit calls “my Lord, my Father”.

“What think ye of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They answered, “The son of David.” Then he replied, “Then why did David, in the Spirit, call him Father?” Call him Adonai, call him my Lord? “If David, in the Spirit, calls him Father, how can he be David’s son?” (Mat. 22:42). There’s only one being in this world, only God. And God, as we’re told in the 2nd Psalm, “I will tell of the decree of the Lord: He said unto me, ‘Thou art my son, today I have begotten thee.’” So, when the son, called David—these words he spoke to David—appears, you don’t feel yourself other than what you are, as far as the I-ness goes. But may I tell you what you feel like?—The Ancient of Days. I know when I looked at David, I was simply the being that I am, and yet I was, as I sat there, the Ancient of Days. I was that same being who asked me to name the greatest thing in this world; and I answered “Love. Faith, hope and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.” Then he embraced me. The same being that embraced me and the one with whom I am fused, that being I was when I saw David.

David comes five months later. In my case, the 6th day of December, l959. And here on the morning of the 6th of December my head explodes, and here stands David, and I am the Ancient of Days. Yet, my identity hasn’t changed. How can I describe it? It simply includes the far greater self, who is no other than God the Father of his only begotten son, who is David. So he buried in the mind of every being in the world his son. He so loved you he gave his only begotten son. If he gives you his son, whenever the son comes out by reason of the fact you’ve reached the limit of the experiences, then it explodes. He stands before you and you think God the Father; therefore, he not only gave you his son, he gave you himself. For you are the father of God’s only begotten son, and he has no other father. When he sees you, you are the Ancient of Days. That’s how you feel when you look into the face of this wonderful lad.

Now he makes the statement, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” He had just made the statement, “In a little while you will see me no more.” He doesn’t explain it. In a little while you will see me no more. And they repeat it over and over. That statement is repeated more often than any other statement. Then we come to the end of his dialogue…it starts with the 13th of John and it goes through to the 16th of John. And here in the 16th, now they wonder, “What do you mean, in a little we’ll see you no more?” Now he adds one more thought, “But, again in a little while you will see me.” They don’t understand. He said, “Because I go to the Father.”

Now, he explains and uses a picture of a woman in labor. “When a woman is in labor she has agony, because the time, her hour, has come; but when the child is delivered, she has no more remembrance of the agony, of the anguish, for joy that a child is born into the world” (John16:21). So he uses this picture. I haven’t seen one book that I have read—and I’ve read so many concerning scripture—that had any light to throw on it. They can’t understand it. They don’t understand the whole drama is taking place in us, in everyone. So the analogy is perfect. When a woman is in labor, she has agony, she has anguish, there’s the distress, because her hour has come; but when she is delivered of the child, then she does not remember the anguish for joy that a child is born.

I am that woman; you are that woman. And so, I am disturbed, in many ways. If I trust someone implicitly who is teaching me this that he experienced and he takes me into his confidence and tells me from experience, he tells me now I must go and you will not see me…not until we meet in the kingdom. For when I die, you cannot find me. You‘ll seek me, but you cannot find me. When I die, I am awakened as the Father. I only have a little while left, and when I die, I will awaken at the very moment of death as the Father. That’s what he’s saying. So, you will seek me, but you cannot find me; but in a little while you’ll find me…when you awaken as the Father. For there’s only the Father, there’s only God. There is nothing but God in this world.

God became as I am, literally, that I may be as he is. And before he became as I am, he was a father. And if he was a father, he had a son. If he has a son and becomes as I am, when I awake as he is, then I must be a father. If I am a father, where is the son? The son is David. This is this fantastic mystery that is given to the world, but man does not understand it. You can’t blame the teachers of the world, who taught all the nonsense in the world, because they haven’t experienced it. I am telling you what I know from experience. I am not theorizing. I tell you Jesus Christ in scripture is God the Father; and David, who called him Adonai, my Lord, which means “my Father”, is the only begotten son.

And Jesus Christ is in us. Only God is saved from death. It was only God who plunged into death to conquer it. Listen to the words, “God is our salvation. Our God is a God of salvation; and to God the Lord belongs escape from death.” Only to God belongs escape from death…the 68th Psalm, the 19th and 20th verses. So it is God in man who escapes from death. He rises from it and leaves the whole thing behind, having experienced death. So I tell you it is not too long. For we’re told there were scoffers, “Scoffers will come and they will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the world began, or ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation” (2Pet.3:3). Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep…do you know that you are the fathers? The fathers fell asleep; the fathers are the Elohim. You are the fathers who fell asleep. As you are told, “Shall I not drink the cup that my Father gave me?” (John18:11). You drank the cup of forgetfulness, complete forgetfulness of the being that you really are, and came down into the world of death, wearing the garment of death. For you actually, in the eyes of others, died. You didn’t die, really, but you died relative to others.

And you die in this world in another sense. As Paul said, “I die daily” (1Cor.15:31). I was once poor then I became secure. I was once ill then I became well. I was once unknown, so I became known. So I died to all these states…if I know how to die. So Paul said, “I die daily”…if you know the only way to die, and the only way is “I am the way.” So I must dare to assume that I am what at the moment of my assumption reason denies and my senses deny. I remain faithful to this assumption, it projects itself and I become it in this world.

So here, “In my Father’s house (I am the Father) there are unnumbered mansions.” It’s translated “there are many mansions, many rooms, many resting places, many hospices, many of these abodes.” I tell you they are infinite. I stand here and no one sees what I am doing and suddenly I assume another state, or, I assume that I am other than what I appear to be, just a simple adjustment. If anyone is sensitive and I am assuming it at a point in space, they will see me, if they are there…as my business partners, as dozens have seen me by an actual experiment. I have tried it and I get confirmation. Not everyone writes me that they saw me, not everyone will do it, because they think this is insane, hallucination. But that day, I actually dated it with my sister. Came out and told my wife and my friend who came to cocktails, why, in her eyes, I seemed a little bit heavy in heart. I told them what I had done, I dated it, and when my sister wrote, it was that day, that hour. She sat right down and she wrote, asking if I could throw any light on this strange happening that just took place in our home in Barbados. And having voiced it eight days before, I had two witnesses to the fact that’s what I did, for I told them exactly what I did. I told my wife and I told my friend who was present what I had done that moment. She saw me exactly as I assumed that I was being seen.

So, I can be wherever I want to be in this world, for I have found the Immortal Man that cannot die. He is not confined to the body. One day he awakens…and when he awakens he is the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Lord Jesus Christ is the Father. “I’ve been so long with you, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you ask, ‘Show us the Father’?” And there’s only the Lord Jesus Christ, who is buried in everyone, who awakens in everyone, and who awakens as the Father.

So, “You will seek me, but you will not find me.” You will find others, because they will die, but they will not really die. And you will meet everyone who has not been resurrected, if you want to meet them. But you will not meet the resurrected until you are resurrected. And so, you will not meet me. You will meet everyone in this world that you want to meet by knowing the way: “I am the way.” So I want to meet so and so, and you’ll meet them. You meet anyone you want, if you know who you are and the way. But you cannot meet the resurrected until you are resurrected. When you are resurrected, you are one with all who are resurrected, and then we meet in the kingdom in one body, and that body is our resurrected body of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So they were sad of eye because he said, “In a little while you will not see me.” You will seek me, but you cannot come where I am. You can not go where I am going. Then he tells them, in the end of the discourse in the 16th chapter, “But in a little while you’ll see me.” Because in that day, you, too, will be as I am, because I dwell in you, and you dwell in me, and we are one; for I am in the Father and the Father in me, and we are one. So, until the resurrection of the individual he cannot find the one that he loves so much on earth who has been resurrected, for he is no longer in the world of death. After death, he awakens as the resurrected, the Lord Jesus Christ; while on earth, he still has the limitations and the weaknesses of the flesh—knowing who he is, teaching it, explaining it and doing his best to help everyone achieve goals in this world.

So I tell you this is the most practical subject that I could talk about. You get it on this level, if you know that “I am the way, I am the truth”—I make it true—“and I am the life”—I make it alive, I make it real—by simply not asking anyone “What should I do? Meet the right people? Get enough money in the bank? Trust the bank?” Well, I don’t want to frighten anyone, but, you know, I’m old enough to remember 1929 and ’30 and ’31 and ’32, when banks fell like, well, the bowling alley pins. People had their little $10,000 in this and $20,000 in that, and over night they had nothing. They had these fantastic banks, Bank of America in New York City, United States Bank, United States Bank of so and so, and they said, “Now, the government is behind this.” Wasn’t at all! All of these little names, over night they were all closed. Everyone who thought they had 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, some 50,000, they had nothing. Bank’s closed.

The big giants, opened and I recall vividly a friend of mine, my dancing partner’s father, he was a very close intimate friend of the president of the First National Bank of New York City. Their station in life, socially and financially and everything else were just like the ___(??) and the ___(??). Then came the crash. His name was Jackson E. Reynolds, he still kept his job, but they had to write off as bad debt $40 million. Yet the bank survived, but they had to write off $40 million, and he kept his job. You lose a thousand dollars in your account and you’re out of work. He could lose 40 million and still keep the job as a very important rich wonderful businessman. You ask yourself a few questions, “Where does the dream end?” He loses $40 million and he’s still important, and someone loses a few hundred dollars and he is unimportant. He still remains president; they’ll push him up to chairman of the board…unless, of course, he has the presence of mind to die. ___(??).

So, don’t be impressed no matter who stands before you and is introduced to you as an important person. They aren’t. They’re all in the dream world, everything, until he awakens from the dream. And only one person awakens from the dream, the Lord God, in the Old Testament called Jehovah, in the New, Jesus Christ. Same being, there is no other being. For you are told in the 68th Psalm, which I quoted earlier, it begins, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered.” Well, they can’t be scattered until he first awakens. When he awakens, all of the problems of the world vanish.

But, tonight, you remember, the only way in the world is “I am the way.” Not by knowing the right people, not by this, that or the other, there is no way. Any more than I could find a way from a world in which I was completely shut out back to a where unfinished business demanded my presence. The only way back was to assume that I am on that bed, and the pillow is under my head, and I can feel it. So feeling truly is the secret. I could feel that pillow and I came back. Though the body was cataleptic and apparently dead, I came back. Because there’s only one way back and that one way was “I am the way.” There was no road back. What road would lead you from here to where your mother or father, if they’re not in this world, are now occupying? There’s no way other than “I am the way.” You want to feel them and see them, well then, assume tonight that “I am with them.” You’ll meet them.

That’s the only way, until you awaken there completely, as I did, and the only way back here is to assume I am here. You must always make there here and then now. And then you know the way. Only one way, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes unto the Father, but by me.” You’ll never find the Father unless you find me and I am the father of David, the Lord’s only begotten son. So, when you find me, it’s only because you’ve found the son. Then you and I are one, not two. Without loss of identity, we are one.

Now let us go into the Silence.

  • * *

___(??)for the first time we do have the books on the table, which I think you’ll find ___(??). Now we’ll be here every Monday and Friday until the end of this month. We’re closing on the 28th of April, and so we’ll be here every Monday and Friday. Don’t be concerned about a title, really. I haven’t given titles for this series, because I didn’t want to be restricted by just the title. And so, I do hope if you called today, you’re present, even though you might have been disturbed by the title. But my wife didn’t think you would come, because we speak on the only true God, the only positive force in the world. And it’s “Coming to Know the Only True God.” But the word “God” would frighten most people and they wouldn’t want to hear it, because they have their concept of God, which is as false as a three-dollar bill. If it that seems arrogant, I will not retract it. The average person’s concept of causation is just as phony as it comes. You can call it by any name, you do not know the only true God. And the only true God is your own wonderful human Imagination, that’s the only true God.

Now are there any questions, please?

Q: When you reach a point where you…you know, you have to have a goal, you have to have an aim but you don’t have one, you can’t find one?

A: Alright, my dear. You’re not alone if that’s your problem, you’re not alone. Do it in this way. Suppose you could say to someone without knowing what it is, “I have never been so sure of what I really want in this world and not only that, I have it!” Moving on, knowing what you want, without even knowing what you have, and share that knowledge with someone else. “I have it! I didn’t dream that this is what I really wanted in this world until now I have it.” I don’t do my ___(??) on what it is, just that mood that will possess you. And then, strangely enough, things will just move in your world, you’ll draw them all together.

Now, people think that they want someone with all their heart. We all have this experience. “I must have it!”—to find that in a matter of moments you don’t want it, after you get it. I’ve gone into my tailor—he’s been my tailor now for thirty-odd years; I’ve gone through all the suit materials, and I’ve said, now, I’ll take this. I wanted that, strangely enough, why I don’t know, but I wanted that. So he made me the suit, and when I brought it home, my wife said to me, “Why, Neville, you’ve gone completely insane. You’re completely out of your head. Why, I wouldn’t be seen with you at a dog fight in anything like that.” Well, I only wore it home, never wore it again…gave it to my son. He loved it.

So then he was praying that he wanted a new suit and I was the instrument used ___(??). He loved it, he wore it out. But I bought it, I thought it was a lovely suit. It was a very…it was a checkered suit. That was, oh, many years ago. I thought that was marvelous, lovely material, and I got the suit, came home. I thought, “Well now, Bill will like this,” came through the door, and she said, “My Lord! ___(??). I’d be embarrassed even at a dog fight ___(??).” And so I wore it home, that’s all. When my son came home, I said, “Would you like to try this suit on to see if it will fit?” Tried it on, said, “Alright, it’s yours. Take it.” So, I had the pleasure of buying it for him.

Q: (inaudible)

A: Be willing to let everything go in this world. Create it, and, alright, all of sudden you don’t want it. You can change your mood like this, you don’t want it. But somebody wants it. Let them have it. And don’t think what you paid for it, forget that. There’s always that in this world, always. You’ll find it. What you paid for it, forget it. So you paid a couple hundred dollars for the suit, alright, so he has it. Whether it’s my son or not, if it was a friend, it’s the same joy…let the friend have it.

Q: I’m not bugging you about it…I’m curious. I mean ah…

A: Well, my dear, if you’re speaking of what I’m talking tonight in the depths concerning the fatherhood of God, then may I say pray that the son, whose name and his only name is David, stands before you and calls you Father. May I tell you, it’s going to happen.

It’s not a pleasant, ah, the labor is really like a labor, you know. I’m not a woman, so that I can tell you what it feels like to have a baby, but no woman could go through that terrific explosion any more than I did, than bringing out a baby. I thought that this was a massive hemorrhage. I didn’t think I could survive when the vibration began in my head, and then the whole thing exploded and here stands, after the explosion, David.

So he said when a woman is in labor, well then, she has a turmoil, an anguish because her hour has come; but after the delivery of the child, well then, there is only joy in the world because a child is born. So I tell you just that moment is simply a terrific pain with it; then comes into a joy beyond the wildest dream of man because you are God the Father. It seems insane for some little, tiny physical being called man to make that bold assertion. But, that’s made in scripture…when they threw stones at him, why?—for blasphemy. What was the blasphemy? He said, “I am the Father.” He said, “I am God.” It happened to him and he knew exactly what had happened to him. And may I tell you there is only God.

So, if you do not know what you want, may I suggest that you want with all your heart to discover the fatherhood of God.

Goodnight.
